Fleetwood Mac recording new album

Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie has revealed the band are working on an album.

The band recently reissued their 1982 album Mirage but this will be their first studio album featuring new music since 2003 and we are naturally so excited.

The Go Your Own Way hitmakers are halfway there to completing a full record, with seven tracks cut and ready. They’ve booked studio time for October and are trying to pin down Stevie Nicks to work on the rest of the record but she’s on tour in the US until mid December.

Christine said in an interview with Rolling Stones magazine: ‘We cut seven songs in the studio already for the start of a brand-new studio album, which we did probably nearer two years ago.

‘We shelved that temporarily and then went on the road and did the tour. And now, actually, I think we’re going back in, in October to try to finish it off. Stevie hasn’t participated yet, but hope springs eternal. She’s going on a solo tour at the moment.’

She added: ‘There are tons more (songs) in the bag that we have yet to record. And they’re fantastic. So we’re going to carry on and try to finish the record. And then maybe if Stevie doesn’t want to be part of that then we can go out and just do some smaller concerts.’

However, Christine doesn’t think they’d take on a big tour without Stevie.

She said: ‘As a four-piece, yeah. With a view of doing a huge world tour after that, with Stevie.’
