"Get that holiday out of the group chat, it's about time", @two.islam captioned the video, where he gave details about how to get seriously cheap flights.
"December the third, also known as 'travel Tuesday' will be the cheapest day in the year where you can book flights, up to 40% off anywhere in the world", he shared.
He then said that if you were planning a trip to New York, for example, it would be a good day to book, as flights can be expensive. In the comments section, a member of cabin crew penned: "As a flight attendant, this is true!" Someone asked whether it happens "every year", and someone confirmed it does.
Others asked for clarification, writing: "So book on Dec 3rd for any date or does it have to be Dec 3rd?" Someone replied: "Book on Dec 3rd for any date".
Someone else asked whether "this would work if I got a holiday package", and someone said "no", it's flights only. So, for example, if you were going to a wedding abroad and only needed to book a flight to attend as all accommodation is sorted, it'd be the perfect day to secure the flights. However, some package deals may be available.
One man was left fuming saying that he'd "booked yesterday", so wouldn't be able to take advantage of the deal. According to Sky Scanner, "Travel Tuesday is the best day for savvy travellers to find great deals and plan their next adventure", no matter what your plans are.
Shoppers who have held their nerve over the Black Friday weekend could see big deals on flights, hotels and holiday packages being wheeled on out Travel Tuesday. With deals expected to last for a limited time only, Travel Tuesday is a bonus bargain day that shouldn't be ignored if you definitely want to book.
Make sure you check prices in advance so you know you're actually getting a bargain, activate price alerts, have a budget in mind so you don't end up overspending, and it's good to be flexible with dates and destinations if you can be.
