Flight from Stockholm declares mid-air emergency before landing at Edinburgh Airport

A Scandinavian Airlines flight to Scotland touched down at Edinburgh Airport after an emergency alert just minutes before arrival.

The SAS flight inbound to Edinburgh from Stockholm declared an emergency, squawking code 7700 just 15 minutes before landing and in the early stages of its descent into the Scottish capital.

Flight SK2545 landed at around 12.16pm, according to flight radar information. It is understood to be a medical emergency.

Aviation Source posted on X: "SAS flight SK2545, an Airbus A320-200 from Stockholm, has declared an emergency with squawk code 7700 whilst inbound to Edinburgh.

"Flight SK2545 declared the emergency in the early stages of its descent this morning. Having declared an emergency whilst inbound to Scotland earlier this morning, SAS flight SK2545 has now landed at Edinburgh Airport."

The Record has contacted SAS and Edinburgh Airport for comment.
