Food and drink-wise, we have a lot to thank the people of Yorkshire for.

Not only have they given us John Smiths bitter, Wensleydale cheese and Tetley Tea, but we also owe them a debt of gratitude for their eponymous pudding, without which no Sunday lunch would be complete.

And now the humble Yorkshire pud has been taken to the next level: are you ready for the Yorkshire pudding burger?

Fans of both roast dinners and hearty burgers will be sure to unite in delight at this amazing combo.

Staff at the newly-opened Potting Shed gastropub in Beverley say the meal - a beef patty topped with blue cheese and a slice of bacon, sandwiched between a pair of Yorkshire puds - has been a big hit with customers.

Tom Streatfield, co-manager at The Potting Shed, said: “The burger was created by our chief operational chef Jordan Franz.

"He’s as Yorkshire as Yorkshire gets really, and he loves blue cheese. It’s been really popular and one of the most favoured choices on the burgers menu.”
