A flood alert has been issued for a stretch of Essex coast - with tides 'expected to be higher than usual'. The Environment Agency has issued the alert for the coast due to spring tides.

The alert covers the Essex coast from Clacton to St Peters Flat, including Jaywick, Brightlingsea, Mersea Island, Heybridge, Maldon and the Colne and Blackwater estuaries.
