Flood Warnings in Cincinnati as Ohio River Receives Heavy Rainfall

Heavy rainfall led to a rise in water levels along the Ohio River, prompting flood warnings and road closures in Cincinnati on Thursday, March 4.

Drone footage released by Cincinnati Parks shows riverside parkland near the city’s CBD flooded.

“The river crested at 56.4 feet last night and will begin receding later tonight,” the organization wrote in a tweet. “Once it recedes, Cincinnati Parks staff will begin flood cleanup.”

The National Weather Service (NWS) said they expected the Ohio River’s water levels to remain high into next week. Credit: Cincinnati Parks via Storyful
