Flooding Forces Closure of Several Texas State Parks

Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared a state of disaster in 18 counties in central and south Texas on Tuesday, October 16, as severe flooding hit the state.

The floods, brought on by heavy rainfall, forced the closure of several parks and lakes as authorities conducted search and rescue missions. Officials said on Tuesday night that a body was found near the eastern shore of Lake Lyndon B. Johnson.
