Flooding Hits Hue in the Wake of Typhoon Damrey

Severe flooding swamped Vietnam’s central region on Sunday, November 5, after Typhoon Damrey made landfall near Nha Trang on Saturday.

The Vietnamese news website Tuoi Tre reported that 27 people had been killed and parts of Nha Trang, Hue, Hoi An and Danang were flooded as the remnants of Damrey passed over the country’s Central Highlands into Cambodia.

President Donald Trump and leaders from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member states were expected to meet in Danang for a summit on November 10.
