Flooding Seen in Maunabo as Hurricane Fiona Makes Landfall in Puerto Rico

Flooded streets were seen in Maunabo, Puerto Rico, on Sunday, September 18, as the National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported that Hurricane Fiona made landfall along the island’s southwest coast.

According to the governor of Puerto Rico, power systems across the island were out of service because of the hurricane.

On September 18, President Joe Biden approved an emergency declaration in Puerto Rico and ordered federal assistance to supplement local emergency responders.
