Floodwater Washes Road Away in Southern Queensland

A section of road in south Queensland was washed away in floodwater, as seen in this footage shared on February 24.

Parts of the bitchumen on the Roma Taroom Road, which runs between the communities of Roma and Taroom, were upturned and swept away after a nearby creek overflowed.

Two large cargo sections of a truck that were left on the road also gathered debris and branches underneath the wheels.

A number of road closures were in place across the region, according to local alerts. Credit: Mandy Otto via Storyful
