Florence Pugh Leads Band of Marvel Misfits in First ‘Thunderbolts’ Trailer
The first trailer for Disney’s Thunderbolts opens to Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, a depressed assassin, reuniting with her slob father, Alexei (David Harbour).
She complains her life is empty, despite being busy with dangerous hit jobs. But purpose quickly returns to Yelena’s life as the action-packed teaser has her soon crossing paths with a collection of Marvel’s shadiest characters.

“Everyone here has done bad things … So, someone wants us gone,” Yelena at one point in the trailer tells her fellow antiheroes, including John Walker/U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) — as they are threatened with elimination after completing earlier jobs for an unknown villain.
“This could get messy,” Yelena warns her fellow miscreants in the teaser for the action flick with the tagline: “Careful Who You Assemble.”
The trailer also offers a look at Lewis Pullman’s Bob and Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Val, who greets the Marvel team of sudden expendables.
Thunderbolts was hit by delays due to the writers and actors strikes last year, and the latest release date is set for May 2, 2025. With production following the Los Angeles labor actions, Geraldine Viswanathan replaced Ayo Edebiri and Top Gun: Maverick actor Pullman replaced Steven Yeun in the superhero pic due to scheduling conflicts.
The Marvel team-up movie also stars Sebastian Stan and David Harbour, with Jake Schreier directing and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige producing.
Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, Jason Tamez and Scarlett Johansson serve as executive producers.
