Florence Pugh is embarking on a new romance, but she's taking it slow this time.

The We Live in Time actress revealed to British Vogue in an October 2024 cover interview that she is currently dating someone, though she did not reveal their name.

"Yes. We are figuring what we actually are. And I think for the first time, I’m not allowing myself to go on a roller-coaster," said Pugh, 28. "I’m allowing myself to take time to let something evolve and let it be completely real to its core, as opposed to racing into that.”

Falling in love is "the most amazing feeling," added the Midsommar star. However, "Unfortunately if that’s the only thing that you know in a relationship, then that’s the thing that you chase. That’s not gonna last."

Pugh, who stars opposite Andrew Garfield in the upcoming romantic drama We Live in Time, told British Vogue that "I believe that if magic is real, then it’s falling in love. And I am someone that loves falling in love."

"I love looking after people. I love caring for people. I love the feeling of someone being there. I love knowing that someone is thinking about me and someone cares for me in the same way that I’m thinking about caring for them," she said.

"I think in this portion of my life, I’m trying to make sure that I’m making all the right decisions so that I can have the thing that I want … which is safety, family, a home and security," added the Oscar nominee.

Elsewhere in the interview, Pugh said she wants to have children one day ("I love the idea of a big family," she said), and explained that having relationships in the public eye is tricky.

The mostly private star also touched on why she chose to speak out about her previous romance with ex Zach Braff, after intense scrutiny and attention on their coupling.

"I had to be public in the past because people were bullying me and bullying my partner," Pugh said, adding, "Mine and Zach’s relationship was actually quite private until it was nasty, and I could see the toll that it was taking on him and us and our families. And that’s when I spoke out."

"I think for anyone I’m with, I want to protect them. It’s not nice knowing that people are saying the worst things I’ve ever read about someone that I love," she continued. "So that was necessary. I needed to talk about it."

"I think any relationship in this limelight is going to be stressed," the Black Widow actress said.

Pugh became romantically linked to Braff in 2019, and in Harper's BAZAAR's September 2022 issue, the actress revealed they had quietly broken up.

She explained at the time that they had been "trying to do this separation without the world knowing, because it's been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on."

Braff, 49, directed Pugh in the 2023 film A Good Person. That March, they walked the red carpet together at the premiere, six months after she announced their breakup news.

We Live in Time is in theaters Oct. 11.
