Florida Man Goes Fishing in the Street Following Storm Eta

A Florida man discovered a new fishing spot in Pembroke Pines on Monday, November 9, after Tropical Storm Eta brought treacherous flooding to the area – a residential street.

Footage captured by Patricia Calixto shows her son Christopher standing out in the floodwaters with ‘camo snake boots’ and one of his ‘favorite fishing rods’ when he appears to catch a fish.

“I caught a bass,” Christopher can be heard saying in the video as he shows his catch to the camera. At the end of the footage, both Patricia and her son said the fish would be released into the lake near her home.

The National Weather Service warned motorists not to drive through flooded roadways amid “significant and potentially life-threatening flash flooding” in parts of Broward and Miami-Dade counties on the same date. Credit: Christopher Calixto via Storyful
