Woman Charged With Animal Abuse After Stuffing Dog in Car Boot

A woman was charged with animal abuse after video showed her stuffing her dog into the boot of a car in Brevard County, Florida, on August 21.

Sara Perry had been visiting a local animal shelter where she had asked for her dog to be taken in or euthanized, police said. After the shelter told Perry there was no more room for the dog, and they would not euthanize it, Perry returned to her car, put the animal into the trunk, and drove off.

Staff at the animal shelter notified police and Perry was arrested the next day. Credit: Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Florida via Storyful
