Flowers left in tribute to teen hit by car in Lichfield

Flowers have been left at the scene of a crash that claimed the life of a young boy. The teenager died after being hit by a Nissan Qashqai on Ash Grove, Lichfield.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 6.30pm on Friday, May 31. The boy, who has not been named, suffered serious injuries and died a short time later.

Staffordshire Police said the driver of the car remained at the scene and were helping officers with their enquiries. The force said specially-trained officers were supporting the boys family "at this traumatic time".

Many people have visited the crash site to leave floral tributes for the youngster. Colourful bouquets have been placed in water-filled containers at the roadside.
