Flybmi: Aviation analyst predicts further airline collapses

An aviation analyst predicts that more European airlines will collapse in 2019 following the announcement by British Midland Regional Limited on Saturday evening that it was filing for administration. Flybmi's collapse has left 1,500 passengers stranded. Alex Macheras said the financial state of the British airline had been deteriorating for quite a while and that, whilst efforts had been made at restructuring and new routes, "in the climate that is aviation in Europe in 2019 it is not sustainable".
