Flying Car Completes Landmark Inter-City Test Flight in Slovakia

A flying car completed a landmark test flight on June 28, between the cities of Nitra and Bratislava in Slovakia.

AirCar, described as a “dual-mode car-aircraft vehicle” by its creators Klein Vision, took off from the city of Nitra and completed a 35-minute flight. After landing, the vehicle was “transformed” into a car and driven to downtown Bratislava.

Klein Vision said their flight cut the typical travel time between the two cities “by a factor of two.”

“This flight starts a new era of dual transportation vehicles. It opens a new category of transportation and returns the freedom originally attributed to cars back to the individual … It has turned science fiction into a reality,” the vehicle’s inventor, Prof Stefan Klein, said after driving the AirCar into Bratislava.
