Food Delivered to Isolated Puerto Rican Region of Utaudo

US Department of Homeland Security agents landed a helicopter in the isolated Puerto Rican region of Utuado to deliver food and water on Tuesday, October 12.

The mountainous area has been cut off since Hurricane Maria because the storm destroyed a bridge.

A New York Times report described how residents in the region created a pully system to transport supplies across the Vivi River because of the bridge’s destruction. Credit: US Air Force via Storyful
