A special food festival like no other is set to come to the HU3 area.

HU3 Come To Tea is set to last from July 15 until July 28 and aims to show off a wide range of international cuisines to bring the whole community together.

Celebrating the different backgrounds of the area to create a food festival for everyone, HU3 Come to Tea will see two weeks of high street businesses, local food providers, community groups and residents unify over a love of food.

With the likes of Menu Trails, Cook Outs and Coffee Mornings, organisers have tried to incorporate as many different activities to draw in as big of a crowd as possible for their first-ever festival.

"We're a mini food festival with a difference. I guess it's a determination and decision by residents, organisations and different groups who work in HU3 to celebrate, unearth and connect to build on the amazing food offers and initiatives in the area," organiser Kate Genever told Hull Live.

The festival was funded by The Lottery's Community Fund. The organisers always wanted to do something surrounding food, and asked the surrounding community for suggestions - and came up with the idea for a food festival.

"As we know, HU3 is perhaps more known for its food poverty and struggles around food because of the multiple deprivations on the area. We have decided to celebrate the assets rather than the negatives and build on what's there. It's an amazing international area - There's Thai food, West African food, and Chinese food. I've got a woman who makes Turkish food using Vine leaves grown from her Gordon Street garden."

Different Hessle Road businesses are all getting involved. Pubs such as Halfway House will be hosting a special chippy tea event, with shops and takeaways all a part of the trail - simply look for the sticker in the window to know if a place is participating.

A full schedule for the festival's events day by day can be found on the HU3 Come To Tea's social media account here.
