Football team set up in memory of young Grimsby man wins Leisure League
A football team formed in memory of Grimsby teacher and writer Alexander Ramsden won the trophy for the Leisure League in a dramatic final.
Six-a-side team Alos FC was named after Alex who was also known by the nickname "Alo". He sadly died in February aged 30 after being hit by a car in Great Coates Road.
A few of Alex's closest friends and some family, including his brother-in-law Simon Douglas, set up the team. Simon told Grimsby Live: "My brother-in-law was part of the original team but it had disbanded.

"We decided as a group of lads to set it up again in his name. Basically, we played Thursday night at Clee Fields and we won the league.
"The last game of our season we were losing with two minutes to go and we scored two goals in the last two minutes. Those two goals won us the league. It was insane. The primal roar from that second goal when it went in could probably be heard across Grimsby.
"I've said it since and I've said it to his [Alo's] mum and dad, I truly believe we didn't do that on our own that day."
Simon said his brother-in-law was deeply missed and it was hard to come to terms with his sudden death. In a tribute released through Humberside Police, Alex's family described him as "loving" and said part of them had "died with him".
A literary competition has since been set up in memory of Alex. He taught English at Engineering UTC Northern Lincolnshire and was described as a "passionate" teacher. He was also a writer and published short stories.
Simon added: "As a kid, he knew every flag that existed everywhere. He knew every car make. There was one fact he always wanted to tell people: what the end of a shoelace is called.
"The little plastic bit is called an aglet. I think it's a great fact. I used to think 'That's just useless nonsense' but when you think about it it's a great fact to tell people. That's the kind of person he was - he'd just know random stuff."
