Foreign Office updates advice for popular holiday destinations amid tensions
The UK Foreign Office has updated its travel advice for a number of countries popular with British holidaymakers - amid fears of rising tensions in the Middle East.
The updated advice comes after Israel launched strikes against Iran early on Saturday morning in response to an attack by Iran earlier this month.
The latest strikes come as part of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, which has also seen Israel engage in hostilities with Iranian-backed groups including Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen.

There are fears of further escalation in the Middle East. As a result the Foreign Office has updated its advice for a range of countries in the region.
These include Cyprus, Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates (which includes Dubai) - all of which are popular with UK holidaymakers. Turkey, which this week launched strikes against targets in Syria and Iraq in response to an attack by the Kurdish PKK militia, has also seen its advice updated following the Israeli strikes.
Jordan, popular with UK visitors going to the ancient site of Petra, is also amongst the countries to see their advice upgraded, along with a number of nations around the Gulf.
The updated regional risks advice states: "Ongoing hostilities in the region and between Israel and Lebanon could escalate quickly and pose risks for the wider region. On 1 October, Iran launched around 200 ballistic missiles at Israel. On 26 October, Israel carried out military action against Iran. Monitor this travel advice and other media as the situation is changing fast."
