Foreign Office warns UK tourists 'hostilities could escalate quickly'
The Foreign Office has issued a travel warning to UK holidaymakers - amid fears "hostilities could escalate quickly" in a hidden gem location. Holidaymakers have been advised to heed new guidance for Bahrain amid a worrying situation.
The Foreign Office said: "There is a high threat of terrorist attack globally affecting UK interests and British nationals, including from groups and individuals who view the UK and British nationals as targets. Stay aware of your surroundings at all times.
"UK Counter Terrorism Policing has information and advice on staying safe abroad and what to do in the event of a terrorist attack. Find out how to reduce your risk from terrorism while abroad." It added: "Terrorists are likely to try to carry out attacks in Bahrain.

"Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places visited by foreigners. Previous attacks using explosive devices in public places have killed and injured people. An attack has not been carried out successfully for several years.
"Terrorists have threatened to carry out attacks in the Gulf region, including on residential compounds, military, oil, transport and aviation interests and public places, including restaurants, hotels, beaches, shopping centres and mosques.
"Be aware of your surroundings, particularly during high profile events, and avoid large demonstrations." It said: "Ongoing hostilities between Israel and Lebanon could escalate quickly and pose risks for the wider region.
