Foreign Office warns UK tourists who travel will 'invalidate' insurance
The Foreign Office has warned UK tourists they face "disruption" at an airport amid a strike threat. The Foreign Office has warned UK holidaymakers and British tourists "there is disruption at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, due to ongoing strike action."
The Foreign Office warned that the action "is affecting flights and access to and from the airport." It said: "Passengers are advised to check with their airline for flight information." It also explained: "Your travel insurance could be invalidated if you travel against advice from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO)."
Areas where FCDO advises against all but essential travel have also been named by the department. "Kenya-Somalia border and northern parts of the east coast," it says, adding: "Due to the risk of terrorism from groups based in Somalia, FCDO advises against all but essential travel to within 60km of Kenya’s border with Somalia."

As well as this, Eastern Garissa County, up to 20km north-west of the A3 road, including the Boni National Reserve, Mandera County, excluding Mandera West sub-county and Lamu County, excluding Lamu Island and Manda Island were earmarked by the Foreign Office as danger areas.
Tana River County north of the Tana River, up to 20km north-west of the A3 road and within 15km of the east coast between the Tana River and the Galana (Athi-Galana-Sabaki) River were also listed. No travel can be guaranteed safe, it adds.
