A former antiques dealer who turned to selling chemsex drugs has been sentenced to nine years in prison.

Dariusz Jakubik’s car was searched by police after it was stopped in the City in April 2017. In a holdall on the rear seat, officers found large quantities of ecstasy, crystal meth, cocaine, ketamine, diazepam, Viagra and GBL.

City of London Police said the drugs are often supplied within the chemsex scene and taken to enhance sex.

Cocaine, cannabis and amphetamines were also found packaged and ready for sale, Blackfriars crown court heard last Friday. Experts estimated the total street value of the drugs in the car at £13,665.

While Jakubik, 39, was on bail, Met officers raided his home in Islington this February and found large quantities of class A, B and C drugs, plus a substantial amount of cash in his car.

WhatsApp messages on his phone offered to supply drugs across London.

Jakubik, now of Beckton, pleaded guilty to 17 charges of drug possession, intent to supply, and one charge of possession of criminal property.

Detective Constable Oliver Gent, who investigated, said: “The City of London Police will not tolerate the sale of drugs. Our officers will not hesitate to stop and search those acting suspiciously in the Square Mile to prevent such crimes from occurring. The drugs that were being supplied by Jakubik are extremely dangerous and in some cases lethal.”
