A much-loved pizza shop which left fans saddened when it moved from the southside to East Kilbride has announced it is set to return.

Canotto Pizza moved to East Kilbride in the summer of 2022, after originally opening in Cathcart in 2020, with former regulars still travelling out to get their hands on their favourite pizzas.

Now the pizza shop, which was founded by local entrepreneur Dom Morton in his kitchen, is set to delight fans by confirming it is returning to the southside to opening a brand new takeaway shop in Bellahouston.

Taking to Instagram, the team previously posted a short video featuring an illustration of a store with the Canotto Pizza name, teasing it will be opening in December – and they’ve now confirmed it will be opening in the Southside, meaning they can deliver to all of their old spots as well as newer places like Partick, West End and the City Centre. They will also be introducing new pizzas and sides to their menu along with some brand new dessert options.

Recently named as one of the best in the UK, as well as in the Top 5 for Scotland, by TimeOut Magazine, Canotto will be keeping it’s East Kilbride venue, opening at Bellahouston, and looking to expand to two other locations around Glasgow – though they are keeping tight lipped as to where.

A spokesperson for Canotto said: “It’s amazing that we will now be able to serve everyone again, we still do get our regulars travelling out to eat with us in East Kilbride, although it will be great to now deliver to them in the comfort of their own home. Keep an eye out on our Instagram for the full location reveal."
