It's been a year since Michelle Connor left Coronation Street, but Kym Marsh is still appearing on screens after landing a new presenting role.
The former Hear'Say singer presents BBC show Morning Live alongside Gethin Jones.
Speaking about the new programme, Kym exclusively told Digital Spy: "In the beginning, everyone was kind of trying to say it was going to be a comparison to Lorraine, and it's a completely different show to Lorraine.
"The way that we do things, and the way that Lorraine's show does things, they're two completely different things. Lorraine is brilliant at what she does, you know?
"I think they've been two very different shows, and it's something that people have welcomed with open arms. It's been really nice.
"The year has been a strange one, but it's been a good one in terms of allowing me to have opportunities that maybe I might not have had before, I think. It's strange, in a way."
Adding how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected her year, she continued: "Coronavirus has taken a massive toll on the year for everybody.
"There were other things that could have happened this year that didn't happen, because of COVID. I've been very fortunate.
"I've been one of the fortunate ones because I have been able to do other projects, and have been given the opportunity to do some live presenting, which was obviously the first time I've ever done any properly live presenting before."
Kym also made her movie debut in The Loss Adjuster alongside Bros star Luke Goss, Martin Kemp and Dame Joan Collins.
"I read the script, and thought it was a great story, and it obviously had a fantastic cast – although not everybody was involved at that stage – so it was just a nice, little project, really, and it was something that I felt was a great opportunity for me," she recalled.
