Former Coronation Street star Oliver Mellor and wife Rhian Sugden have revealed that they are expecting their first child.
The pair wed in 2018 and have revealed in an interview with Hello! Magazine that Rhian is now 16 weeks pregnant, with the fantastic news coming after several rounds of IVF treatment.
“We're over the moon. Our lives are going to change so much, which is very exciting,” said Celebrity Big Brother star Rhian, with Oliver adding: “I can't wait for the baby to be born. I'll pump my fist to the sky and shout, 'I'm a dad!'”

The pair also spoke about their long journey to get to this point, revealing that a successful round of treatment came at the eighth time of trying, with Oliver detailing the heartfelt moment of their discovery.
“I was woken up by her calling out, 'Oh my God, I'm pregnant,’” he recalled. “When I opened my eyes, I could see her holding up the stick from the test and smiling at me. I'll never forget the expression of sheer joy on her face or the happiness and relief I felt inside.”
The couple teased the news on their social media channels before the release of the interview, with each writing on Instagram that they had “exciting” news to share and that “good things come to those who wait.”
The comment sections on each post were filled with lovely messages from fans, with one follower writing: “Massive congrats to you ! Such beautiful news and so well-deserved ! Wishing you all the best ❤️”

“Aww fabulous news !!!! 👏👏👏 Massive congratulations !!!!” added one user, with another follower commenting: “Congratulations, great news after the struggles you've had.”
Oliver first appeared on Corrie in 2010, playing the role of Dr Matt Carter before eventually departing from the ITV soap in 2013. Rhian appeared on the 10th series Celebrity Big Brother in 2012, with the lingerie model being the third housemate to be evicted.
