An application has been submitted to bring a former East Yorkshire pub back to life.

The Light Dragoon, the former pub in Etton, near Beverley, is set to reopen, under new ownership, as 'The Pub at Etton'. After plans to demolish the pub to make way for four cottages fell through due to local opposition, the owners instead to reopen it as a pub after the original venue closed over half a decade ago in 2019.

A spokesperson for the pub told the LDRS that the pub had been on the market, but that no breweries registered any interest.

A licensing application has been submitted to East Riding Council ahead of the planned opening in March. The application is requesting permission to trade between the hours of 11am to 23:59pm Monday to Sunday, and sell alcohol from 11am to 11.30pm.

The pub's new website claims it is undergoing an "extensive refurbishment" and that it will offer, "traditional beers, log burning fires, and specialist food nights."

There is also a link on the website to submit job applications for its recruitment driver, whilst on Facebook the pub is taking suggestions for what drinks people would like to see the new pub serving.
