Former Emmerdale star Charley Webb reunites with soap friends on 35th birthday

Former Emmerdale star Charley Webb has reunited with her friends from the soap on her 35th birthday.

The actress played Debbie Dingle for nearly two decades, debuting in 2002 before departing from the ITV soap in 2021, and met up with old castmates to celebrate her special day.

In the post on Instagram, Charley posted a photo of her alongside Zoe Henry, Lucy Pargeter, Emma Atkins and Roxy Shahidi, writing: “This is 35. A room with most of my favourite people in our pyjamas.

“We had a sleepover with a Sound Bath Meditation and I couldn’t be happier. Happy thirty five years to me,” she wrote in the caption.

As well as the photo, Charley received some comments from other famous faces, with Emmerdale co-star Eden Taylor-Draper writing: “Bday queen. Furious I missed [it].”

Other celebrities who wished Charley a happy birthday included Call the Midwife's Liz White, former Coronation Street star Sacha Parkinson and EastEnders’ Emma Barton.

Since departing the soap, Charley ran her own business which sold handcrafted toys, but she revealed earlier this month that she was forced to “give up her dream.”

“I've loved this chapter and the journey it's taken us on but we just don't have the time to run it the way we want to,” she said. I love everything Scandi[navian] so this has been a dream.”

Whilst she has no immediate plans to return to the Dales, Cain Dingle actor Jeff Hordley revealed he would love for Charley to reprise her role, saying Debbie was the only one who could get through to his character.

“Cain is flawed, so I just have to find the reasons behind what he does. No one gets through to him like Debbie does, and I'd love Charley Webb, who plays her, to come back,” he said.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
