Former Gloucester City, Swindon Supermarine, Evesham United and Cirencester Town defender joins Bishop's Cleeve
Mat Liddiard has agreed to join Bishop's Cleeve after announcing his departure from Swindon Supermarine earlier this week.
The former Gloucester City defender or midfielder played under Cleeve boss Paul Collicutt during a spell at Evesham United.
He scored 21 goals for Evesham as they reached the play-off semi-finals in 2017/18, providing a major threat from set pieces with his aerial ability and winning both the manager’s and players’ player of the year awards.
Liddiard, 31, has also previously appeared for Cirencester Town and he spent a fortnight on trial at League Two Newport County AFC in the summer of 2018.
The Hartpury graduate had been at Supermarine since January 2019, making 211 appearances and scoring 17 goals.
He captained the club to their highest ever finish of sixth in Southern League Premier Division Central in 2022/23.
