Former officer would have been dismissed after being dishonest and withholding information
A former officer was found to have been dishonest with a number of agencies, including the DVLA and his car insurance provider. This involved him withholding information between February 8, 2023 and May 23, 2024, that could have impacted him being able to drive.
This incident related solely to the use of a personal vehicle. A misconduct hearing was held at the Nottinghamshire Police and Fire and Rescue Service Joint Headquarters on Friday, October 11.
The hearing concluded that the former officer, who worked in the control room, would have been dismissed if he had still been working for the force. Deputy Chief Constable Steve Cooper, lead for the force’s Professional Standards, says: "Being honest and having integrity in all that we do is essential for working in policing, and providing false information or intending to mislead is never acceptable.”
The misconduct hearing was held in private. This is due to the medical history of the officer involved being referred to throughout the hearing.
