NATHAN Holland has been released by West Ham United, the Premier League club has announced this morning.

Holland, 23, has had two loan spells with Oxford United, including bagging seven goals in 39 appearances this season.

The winger made four first team appearances for the Hammers, featuring as a substitute in the top flight against Wolves and Arsenal in December 2019, and twice in the League Cup.

Earlier this month, he told the U’s official website: “I have thoroughly enjoyed both spells at the club.

“The first time was great, but you can see the progress they are making all the time and how the club is set up for the future.

“Promotion was the aim and we fell just short of that but all of us involved will learn from the experience, painful as it was.

“It was an honour to wear the yellow shirt again and I want to thank everyone and wish the whole club the best for the future.”

Hammers club captain Mark Noble is set to retire after 18 seasons with the East London side.

The 35-year-old made 550 appearances in claret and blue.

Ukraine winger Andriy Yarmolenko, right back Ryan Fredericks, and goalkeeper David Martin have also been released.
