A former police officer is accused of discussing sexual intercourse with underage girls. Former Merseyside Police Constable Patrick Fox is due to appear before a misconduct hearing this week to face allegations of gross misconduct.

A notice on the Merseyside Police website says the former officer is alleged to have discussed drug use for social activities; used derogatory sexualised language in relation to police acronyms; and discussed sexual intercourse with underage girls. The notice adds in allegedly doing so "the officer demonstrates he has no regard for the standards that he is duty bound to uphold".

Merseyside Police said the allegations cross the threshold of gross misconduct as the former PC "acted in a manner that may bring the police service into disrepute". If the hearing panel determines that PC Fox's conduct amounts to gross misconduct, he could face sanctions including an immediate dismissal from the force if he was still a serving officer and his name being added to the College of Policing's banned list.

The full note on the police's website reads: "In that discussing drug use for social activities and in using derogatory sexualised language in relation to police acronyms and or in discussing sexual intercourse with underage females, the officer demonstrated that he had no regard for the standards that he is duty bound to uphold as a police officer in both his professional and private life and he acted in a manner that may bring the police service into disrepute."

Former PC Fox will appear before the misconduct hearing, which will be held at Merseyside Police HQ in Everton, on Friday, November 22. The hearing will be chaired by Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims.
