Yahoo News Former 'Strictly' pro Kristina Rihanoff tips Nicole Scherzinger to join the judging panel
Strictly Come Dancing star Kristina Rihanoff has tipped Nicole Scherzinger to join the show’s judging panel.
The former Strictly pro believes Scherzinger would be the ideal replacement for Dame Darcey Bussell, who announced her denature from the BBC programme last week.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain today, Rihanoff admitted that she’d love to be a judge herself, but believes the show needs someone with a different background to ballroom dancing.
“Of course I would love to be a judge. But I don’t see myself in that role yet. I love doing choreography and creative stuff,” she said.
“I think the panel needs another woman and someone from a different background to ballroom dancing, someone from street dancing or a commercial dancing background, who is also a professional dancer and perhaps a judge.”
Asked for suggestions, Rihanoff then named Scherzinger, claiming The X Factor judge’s professional training in street and commercial dancing make her a perfect candidate.
“She is a beautiful stunning lady who has professional training in street and commercial dancing. She would be a good judge. On X Factor she was wonderful,” she said.

Rihanoff also named La La Land choreographer Mandy Moore as another possible replacement for Dame Darcey Bussell.
She said: “We all loved the La La Land movie and the wonderful Mandy Moore, who was choreographer for that movie and she is a judge on So You Think You Can Dance in America. She is in America and she choreographed a lot of wonderful numbers on Strictly with us pros. We all loved her. She would be great.”
