Former Tottenham captain Younes Kaboul has revealed he once confronted ‘two-faced’ manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Frenchman, 32, was the first club captain following Pochettino’s arrival from Southampton in 2014, after he allowed the players to vote on who should wear the armband following the departure of Michael Dawson.

Now at Watford, Kaboul has previously spoken about how his relationship with the Argentine crumbled at Spurs, to the point where manager and captain were no longer talking to each other.

Two years on from those comments, the former Sunderland man has spoken about how he confronted Pochettino over his personal behaviour.

"The one where things didn’t go well was Pochettino," Kaboul said.

"On the field, nothing to say, very good manager, with a philosophy and a style of play that works.

"Personally, it’s the opposite. He’s two-faced. He would say things to you and did the complete opposite behind your back.”

Speaking to France Football, he added: “I didn’t like that, and I told him. That’s all."

Kaboul made 141 appearances for Tottenham across two spells at the club, just 15 of them coming under Pochettino before moving on to Sunderland.
