The Australian native revealed on his Instagram page that a powerful wave snatched his wedding ring.

"Never underestimate the power of the ocean,” Parkinson wrote across the video. “Even at your local! All it took was my wedding ring. Sorry babe, the ocean let me have this one. Hopefully you will be as kind.”

In the video, Parkinson was captured floating as the waves poured over him. A rope was also tied to his ankle, connecting him to his surfboard.

After he was completely immersed, Parkinson pulled himself to a rock before balancing his feet and hopping to another rock that was further away from the ocean.

Parkinson’s post comes after he shared a post earlier last week, celebrating his 19th wedding anniversary to wife Monica.

“Happy 19th wedding anniversary to you babe - one of the many things I’ve learnt over our years of marriage is to never get in the way of your love of food - and its my absolute favourite thing about you .. Love you forever my foodie 🤤.”

In another lost ring story, a Tennessee man was about to propose last year at the beach in Florida when he suddenly realized the ring had fallen out of his pocket.

The man then flagged down a Myrtle Beach Patrol officer who helped with the search along with two more officers and a beach goer who happened to have a metal detector.

Thanks to everyone's help, the sparkler was eventually located and the rest of the proposal went off without a hitch.
