Yahoo News Fornite's third birthday event: start time, challenges and more
Fortnite's Battle Royale mode will be turning three this weekend and Epic Games has a birthday celebration planned.
As of the latest update, V14.20, Fortnite dataminers have found that birthday-related items like cake and a new page of third birthday challenges to complete are now in the game files.
There will also be a new emote in the game this weekend called Take the Cake, which will be free for all players.
The Battle Bus which you ride to drop into the Island will also be decked out in a special cosmetic.

It might sound shocking that Fortnite is only three years old, considering how it is arguably one of the most popular and influential games in recent memory, but its free Battle Royale mode came out September 26 2017.
Below we're going to list the new birthday challenges coming to the game, and the start date.
Fortnite third Birthday Challenges
We knew from the most recent patch notes that the birthday challenges would be coming to the game.
According to this image below, there are eight challenges to complete. You must complete any four challenges to earn the reward item.
But it appears that the first four are all the same as the second four, which means that you’ll either have to do them twice or progress will work for all challenges.
Play 10 matches
Dance in front of 10 different birthday cakes
Outlast 500 opponents
Gain health or shield from Birthday Cake 50 times.
Then the challenges repeat again:

At the moment, we don’t know for sure what Epic has in stock, but last year it included birthday cakes, present supply drops and other fun things for you to interact with as you play.
Fortnite third anniversary start date
Fortnite's third birthday is September 26, which happens to be this Saturday.
You can expect the challenges and other third-birthday related events do be popping up in game this weekend or maybe late Friday evening depending on where in the world you're playing.
