I always said if I didn’t become a journalist I would have gone into some form of interior design. I love anything to do with home aesthetics and things looking, well, nice. So, when I came across Søstrene Grene you can imagine how in love I was.

Bold Street is thriving with quirky little shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, it really does have a little bit of everything so it's easy to see why it's such a popular place for people to visit in Liverpool. It was actually one of the first places I went when I moved here - in fact the morning I viewed my house I went for brunch and a glass of vino at Leaf to celebrate. I am sorry I haven’t written about Bold Street until now, but stumbling across Søstrene Grene - otherwise known as my new favourite shop - was definitely worth a write-up of its own.

The best way I can describe it, is like a more aesthetically pleasing Ikea for adults. You remember when you were a kid and your parents would take you to Ikea and it would be a haven of beds to jump on, mini rooms to explore and mazes of flatpacks to run around? Well that is kind of what stepping into Søstrene Grene is like.

Søstrene Grene is a Danish inspired shop and is set out in sections of mini displays - it's kind of hard to explain - but you’ll have candles on display on the shelves in a mini living room set up, almost like doll houses, and I absolutely love it. For a girl who loves aesthetics like me it honestly is just the prettiest shop to ever set foot in.

Everything is just so damn cute, like the floral stationery, and candles - I love a candle - and all the cutesy little bits and bobs. Honestly, the shop alone is worth every visit to Bold Street if you haven't been. And, the best part is, it's actually really affordable. You would be shocked at how cheap things are because they look so expensive!

Of course there isn’t just this one shop on Bold Street, in fact it's a haven for quirky, vintage and independent retailers. The vintage shops on this street are on a level I’ve never experienced before - I thought Leeds (where I lived before Liverpool) were good, but hell no.

Bold Street top trumps it any day. I think Cow has got to be one of my favourites, I’ve found some amazing deals there - definitely worth the visit.

The greatness of Bold Street doesn’t stop there however. There are endless food and drink spots to enjoy, of all different cuisines and the bar scene is just second to none - some of my favourite bars are located in this area. Oh, and you must stop off at Bold Street Coffee for an iced latte too, they’re delicious. I’d definitely recommend hitting Bold Street if you’re new to the city, there are endless things to see and find, trust me you’ll love it - and make sure to check out my favourite shop.
