Four fire engines on M6 after car ends up on roof

Four fire engines were sent to the M6 when a car overturned. Last night's collision saw traffic on the northbound stretch brought to a stop.

StokeonTrentLive reported at the time how there was around two miles of congestion following the smash with fire crews and paramedics called out. Today and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service says engines from Alsager, Crewe, Sandbach and Middlewich were sent to the smash, which occurred near to Junction 17 for Sandbach.

The alarm had been raised just after 8.25pm.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Firefighters were called to reports of a car in collision with the central reservation and on its roof. All casualties were handed to the care of ambulance crews. The northbound carriageway was closed while firefighters dealt with the incident and made the vehicle safe."
