Four people 'assaulted' at popular Scots nightclub with one man rushed to hospital

A man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

A young man was rushed to hospital after four people were allegedly assaulted at a nightclub in Edinburgh.

Cops scrambled to Niddry Street in the capital during the early hours of Saturday June 1, following reports of four people having been assaulted inside a premises. It is believed the incident took place within Hive nightclub, reports Edinburgh Live.

A 21-year-old male was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment but his condition is unknown at this stage.

Police arrested and charged a 20-year-old male in connection with the incident.

Images taken at the scene at around 2.30am show a police van and car outside the club with several officers on the street.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.50am on Saturday, June 1, 2024 officers were called to a report of four people having been assaulted inside a premises on Niddry Street, Edinburgh.

“A 21-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"He was released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date."
