Four people dead after car crashes into Colchester building
Four people have died following a collision in Colchester early this morning. Essex Police were called shortly before 4.40am today (Saturday, February 1) to reports a vehicle had been in collision with a building in Magdalen Street.
Emergency services attended but, sadly, four people died at the scene. Their families have been informed and will be supported by specialist officers.
The road has been closed for much of the day while the vehicle was recovered and we carried out enquiries. The road has now been re-opened but some buildings are being assessed for structural damage.
