Get ready to relive your favourite romcom – Four Weddings and a Funeral is getting a sequel... sort of!

Emma Freud confirmed filming has kicked off for the official Comic Relief reunion special.

The broadcaster, whose partner Richard Curtis wrote the original film, announced last week that Curtis was writing a 12-minute sequel to the popular movie, 25 years on.

The film, with original director Mike Newell, reunites the star-studded cast, including Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell, all for the good of BBC Comic Relief, airing in March 2019.

Freud kept her 182,000 Twitter followers up-to-date on Thursday by live-tweeting the first day on set as she teased the short’s plot with a series of set snaps.

Although remaining tight-lipped on what happens in the film, Freud teased an “interesting kiss” going on with a snap obscuring the faces.

She also revealed there will be a series of extras appearing in the film, including Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid.

In one snap, the presenter chatted to Rupert Vansittart, who plays George, while another showed her on camera in a scene. A third snap saw Reid all smiles as she held a cake aloft.

Fans were particularly excited when Freud shared a snap of Anna Chancellor, aka Henrietta, sitting in make-up. She captioned: “Still looks like a duck. #RNDwedding,” referring to her character’s nickname of Duckface.

Other snaps showed off the set, decked out in a floral design, while another showed Curtis up in the production gallery.
