Fox’s Tubi Hires Vimeo and HBO Alum Courtney Sanchez as Chief Strategy Officer
Tubi CEO Anjali Sud, the former chief exec of Vimeo who started at the Fox Corp.-owned free TV streaming service last year, has tapped her former lieutenant at Vimeo, Courtney Sanchez.
Sanchez, who has more than 20 years of experience in media and tech, joins Tubi as chief strategy officer and EVP of operations. She worked at Vimeo, the video-hosting platform, from 2014-22 and most recently served as COO, where she helped the company go public. Prior to Vimeo, Sanchez spent more a decade at HBO, where she held various leadership positions in business intelligence and audience insights. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Bucknell University and an MBA in marketing from NYU’s Stern School of Business.

“Courtney is a strategic veteran who has sat at the intersection of media and tech for decades,” Sud said in announcing Sanchez’s hire. “I am thrilled to welcome her on board to help propel Tubi as we look to differentiate further in the U.S. and scale our formula globally.”
Sanchez is another senior hire by Sud, coming just a couple of months after Tubi tapped David Salmon, former CTO of Endeavor Streaming, as executive VP and managing director of international, indicating free streamer is planning to expand into Europe and the U.K.
Tubi claims to have more than 70 million monthly active users. In the U.S., it offers a library of more than 200,000 movies and TV episodes, plus a collection of originals and almost 250 FAST channels. Tubi — which Fox Corp. acquired in 2020 — is part of the Tubi Media Group, which oversees Fox Corp.’s digital businesses.
