Frank Lampard officiates wedding as Janet Street-Porter marries herself on Loose Women

Frank Lampard looks to have found his calling after retiring from football.

The 38-year-old officiated a wedding live on Loose Women as Janet Street-Porter married herself.

Lampard stepped in to play the vicar after getting ordained earlier today.

Street-Porter shunned a wedding dress in favour of red trousers and trainers as she was walked down the aisle with her ‘bridesmaid’ Coleen Nolan before taking her place in front of a mirror.

Lampard – who joked that he “used to be a serious footballer” – kicked off the proceedings by saying: “We are here today to celebrate the coming together of Janet and her favourite person in the world. Janet.”

He continued: “If any person has a reason why Janet and Janet may not be joined together, speak now or forever hold your piece.”

Street Porter shouted “yeah why not” after Lampard asked if she was ready to take herself to be her lawfully wedded Janet, before replying “whatever” to the prospect of staying ‘together’ in sickness and in health.

In celebration she threw her bouquet of white roses out into the audience before sitting down and removing her veil and tiara.

Lampard was on the show to promote the new series of Play to the Whistle – but also opened up about his marriage to Christine Bleakley, who interviewed him on today’s show.

The celebrity couple played a game of Mr and Mrs to reveal that Lampard is the most competitive and romantic while Bleakley has the biggest temper.

Loose Women is on ITV weekdays at 12:30pm.
