TOWIE's Frankie Essex reveals pre-birth blow dry before welcoming twins

The Only Way is Essex star Frankie Essex has revealed she prepared for the birth of her twins by getting her hair blow dried and swapping tanning tips with the midwife.

The reality star and hair stylist - who announced the arrival of her baby boy and girl with her partner Luke Love on 1 June - has confirmed her twins are named Luella and Logan and were born on 24 May by elective caesarean section.

Essex, 34, told OK! magazine: “I knew I wouldn’t be able to wash my hair and give it a proper blow-dry when the babies arrived – and that blow-dry has lasted a good two weeks! I think when your hair looks good, you feel good.”

She added that as she was being walked to the operating theatre: "I remember swapping fake tan tips with the midwife who looked really brown! I actually felt so relaxed. Then it all happened really quickly.”

Daughter Luella was born weighing 4lb 8oz and son Logan weighed 5lb 4oz and is named after Hugh Jackman's character Wolverine from X-Men.

Essex revealed: "Luella has always been my girl name since I was 20 – I’ve never told anyone the name in case they stole it.

"Luke chose Logan’s name as he loves the [X-Men] character Wolverine, who’s called Logan. They both mean warrior, but we only found that out recently.”

And the TOWIE star revealed her first trip out since having the twins and the C-Section surgery has been to get a manicure.

She said: "I got my nails done the other day – that was my first time out without the twins – and that walk, I had a handbag with me, hurt a lot. It’s only about 300 metres away but it took a toll on me."

Essex - who announced she was pregnant in February and a month later revealed the gender of the twins - originally joined The Only Way is Essex in 2011.

She is the older sister of Joey Essex, who also made his name on the show.

She appeared on the programme regularly until 2013. Since then she has made a variety of brief appearances. Her most recent appearance on the show came in 2021.
