Frasier Season 2 release date on Paramount+ revealed

Frasier fans will be able to rejoice in the news that season 2 of the hit comedy show will begin airing in just a few weeks time.

The iconic comedy was revived last year for a continuation season, 19 years after the original series completed airing.

Kelsey Grammer returned as the titular Frasier Crane and added Nicholas Lyndhurst, Toks Olagundoye and Jack Cutmore-Scott to the cast as friend Professor Alan Cornwall, colleague Professor Olivia Finch and on-screen son Frederick 'Freddy' Crane respectively.

The first season was a hit for Paramount+ and on Wednesday it was announced season 2 will begin streaming via the service from Thursday 19 September.

Deadline reports, "Season 2 will see Frasier return to his radio roots at KACL in Seattle for an episode... (featuring) previously announced guest stars stepping back into their roles from the original Frasier including Dan Butler as Bob 'Bulldog' Briscoe, Edward Hibbert as Gil Chesterton and Harriet Sansom Harris as Frasier's delightfully devilish agent, Bebe Glazer."

The first season of the rebooted show, which also stars Jess Salgueiro and Anders Keith in the main cast as neighbour Eve and Frasier's nephew David Crane respectively, was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards hours before the second season release announcement.

The show stands to win Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Program (Half-Hour), Outstanding Cinematography For A Multi-Camera Series (Half-Hour) and Outstanding Picture Editing For A Multi-Camera Comedy Series.

The original Frasier ran from 1993 until 2004 with 264 episodes over 11 seasons.

The reboot sees Frasier move from Seattle to his native Boston where he reconnects with his son and they end up living together.
