A free Christmas adventure has arrived in Wychavon, and you probably hadn’t even noticed.

Visitors to Droitwich, Evesham and Pershore will be able to take part in an augmented reality trail this festive season.

The district council has teamed up with High Street Safari to run the Hunt for the Lost Toys trail in the three Wychavon towns.

Cllr Mark Ward, executive board member for economic growth and tourism, said: “This is an exciting, innovative trail that we hope will give families something enjoyable to do over the festive period.

"It will also provide a great opportunity for people to do their Christmas shopping locally by exploring their towns as they complete the trail, that’s been designed to take in as much of the towns as possible.”

The trail will see players guided by the Luminauts, a team of superheroes who have lost their Christmas presents.

To track down the missing presents, players will need to scan 10 QR codes at locations across Wychavon using their smart devices.

At each stop, players will need to make story choices to try and complete the choose-your-style adventure.

Scanning the QR codes will also release Christmas Imps who will come to life in augmented reality on the user’s smart device.

While the trail has been designed so that there is no need to go inside venues, some participating businesses will be offering discounts and vouchers to those taking part.

The trail takes less than an hour to complete but can also be done in more than one visit.

It is free to take part, and will see players rewarded with a “digital fun pack”.

Hunt for the Lost Toys launched on Monday, November 21, and will run until early January 2023.
