Free burgers for customers who queue for new Wendy's opening near busy Derbyshire M1 junction
The first visitors to a new American fast-food restaurant can claim a free burger with no strings attached when it opens for the first time in Derbyshire this week. Wendy's, which has built a strong appeal in the US since its founding in Ohio in 1969, is set to bring its signature taste to a busy junction of the M1 on Friday, September 13.
Situated at Tallys End, near Junction 30 of the M1 near Balborough, the new eatery will serve up beloved items from breakfast through to dinner. Topping the list of anticipated favourites are mouth-watering delights like the Baconator, Dave's Single, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and the Frosty dessert.
The new Wendy's looks to leave a striking impression on those willing to queue for the grand opening. Anyone - yes, anyone - who waits outside the new store before it opens at 10.30am will be rewarded with a free burger.

Known for its "freshly prepared" and "high quality" offerings at wallet-friendly prices, Wendy's also has an exclusive UK selection that adds to its traditional menu. Look out for square-cut specialities such as chicken fillet nuggets and the Curry Bean Burger.
For those early risers, the full Wendy's breakfast spread is on offer until 10.30am, featuring staples such as the Breakfast Baconator, an assortment of Croissant Sandwiches, and the Classic Egg and Cheese Sandwich - bacon or sausage optional. Coffee aficionados won't be left out with a choice of premium brews including flat whites, cappuccinos, and lattes.
Wendy's, the renowned fast-food chain, was established over half a century ago by Dave Thomas in Columbus, Ohio. The brand is celebrated for its custom-made square burgers, fresh salads, and other unique offerings such as chilli con carne, baked potatoes, and the Frosty dessert.
Presently, Wendy's and its franchisees provide employment to hundreds of thousands of individuals across more than 7,000 eateries globally. Their vision is to become the world's most successful and cherished restaurant brand.
The upcoming store will be the second one to open its doors in Derbyshire, following the Normanton store in Derby that was added to their portfolio last November.
The new Wendy's in Balborough, conveniently located near Chesterfield and Clowne, is set to welcome customers for the first time on Friday, September 13 at 10.30am. The restaurant's operating hours will then be from 7am to 11pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 8am until 10pm on Sundays.
