Fresh Lava From Cumbre Vieja Volcano Reaches Sea

Lava pouring from the Cumbre Vieja volcano has again reached the sea off the island of La Palma, drone video shot on November 10 shows.

This footage, filmed by a military drone, shows lava pouring down a slope and into the sea at Los Guirres Beach, 1-1-2 Canarias said.

The volcano began erupting on September 19. As of November 9, lava had covered 999.6 hectares on the island, according to the European Union’s Copernicus satellite program. Analysts with Copernicus determined that volcanic activity had destroyed 2,605 buildings. Credit: UME via Storyful
