With a TV show renewal, usually comes cries of happiness from the cast who are usually rather excited to get back to work, however that wasn't the case with Fresh Off the Boat's Constance Wu.
When the news was announced that the show was being brought back for a sixth season last month, Wu tweeted that she was 'upset' by the news.
Her co-star, Randall Park, who plays Wu's on-screen husband Louis Huang has now weighed in and joked about her reaction.
"I thought that the last [season] would be our last one," Park told Entertainment Weekly. "Because literally the season finale was a bookend to the pilot.
"So, I think everyone kind of thought that and we weren't sure if we'd keep going."
"[Wu] certainly thought that," he added, laughing. "She was in for a surprise, and we all were. But it's great. There's a lot more stories to tell."
Wu, who plays Jessica Huang in the ABC show, later posted a lengthy statement on social media, in which she explained that the reason for her sadness was that she had to turn down a project that she was "really passionate about".

ABC also issued a statement confirming that they wouldn't be recasting Wu's character and everyone was happy to be returning to the show.
"There have been no thoughts of recasting Constance," ABC's president of entertainment Karey Burke told TVLine following Wu's tweets. "I did know that she had another opportunity that, had Fresh Off the Boat not gone forward, she would have pursued.
"But we never really considered not bringing the show back. It's just too strong for us."
Burke also said that Wu is "happy to return", and added: "The cast and crew is happy to have her back, and we're thrilled to have her on the show."
Fresh Off the Boat airs on ABC in the US and on 5STAR in the UK.
